Where to place the faucet when using a vessel sink? Right behind the sink or angled to the side?
We are doing a charcoal vessel sink in the powder room and a white ceramic vessel sink in the basement bathroom. Where should we place the faucet - right behind the sink or angled to the side? I have seen both looks, but I can't decide which one to go with. Any advise or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Dytecture Here is an example where a ledge is built for the faucet.

rinqreation I have that sink at home! It's somewhat a combination of vessel and traditional sink, because the faucet goes in the edge.

Twisted Minds Custom Designs On a square or rectangular sink I would center it behind, if it is a circular or oval or other free flowing form, you could do either. I think it really depends on the vessel, faucet style, and overall styling of bathroom. If you have pictures of any pieces please share, visuals make designing much more effective.

Twisted Minds Custom Designs It just so happens I put this faucet in a bath remodel I did last year, here is how they look centered behind the concrete vessel sinks.

princess_q Twisted Minds Custom Designs - Great job! I'm glad to see the faucet with the water turned on. I hope it will come into the centre of both my sinks as well. I was a little worried about that. How high are the concrete vessel sinks you used?

Twisted Minds Custom Designs I built them at 7" high from top of counter, the inside of the vessel is 5-1/2" deep as the bottom is 1-1/2" thick. I also built removeable splash plates that act two-fold as to cover the drain to give a sleek clean look, and also allows water to cascade over as in pictures. There are more pictures on my profile page unser the project titled stacked slate, concrete bathroom. Feel free to browse and if you have any other questions feel free to ask, I'd be glad to answer.

princess_q Twisted Minds Custom Designs: What is the dimensions of your sink?

Our sink is 16.5" in diameter and the spout reach is close to 4". Will that result in splashing?

Also, is it safe to say that the faucet should be placed 1/2" away from the vessel sink?

Marie Hebson's interiorsBYDESIGN Inc. I prefer a more symmetrical look in centred on the sink or wall mounted faucet - especially for vessel or semi-vessel sinks.
