mattsines Depends.. Could look like an accident rather than planned! Any pictures to show the 2 colors? Shades of a paint or stain? Will counters be the same on both?

Joanna Goll Counters would be the same.I thought of may be cherry fro the kabinets and Walnut like for the island?

Wil-Sand Custom Woodwork Ltd I would use 2 distinctly different colours...if it's a few shades darker it may seem as though the colour was mis-tinted and just left that way. It all depends on what you are hoping to see in the end.

Hope this helps!!

eagledzines A few shades lighter or darker of the same color would work. But the actual colors of each would make a difference. Olive wood for some or all of the cabinets or for the island or for cutting board or countertop would be beautiful and for a Mediterranean kitchen and has two distinctly different colors in the wood.

You can have your sheet goods supplier lay up a veneer on 1/4"-1"plywood or MDF to your specifications, rotary or bookmatch cut. Costs more but the sheets come oversized and what a wow kitchen that would make.
Free standing cast stone hood or combination free standing/venetian plaster hood.
Use arches
Stone Flooring

First picture is of unfinished olivewood.
Second picture is a kitchen that might inspire ideas for olivewood use.
Third is venetian plaster for walls.
Fourth is stone floor.
Fifth is modern stained concrete(?) and olive wood (veneer).

Whether old world or contemporary, this kitchen would be a knockout.

Wish I was building this kitchen. (I'm jealous)

eagledzines I would not use cherry and walnut. They are not different shades, they are different colors. Walnut is very brown. Cherry will darken to a red/orange.

Joanna Goll Ooh!
Would you use any other wood with Cherry?
