Accent wall - which wall and what color?
New construction home and we're decorating the guest bedroom. The current paint in SW China Doll (in this room and throughout the house). The furniture is very close to the color of the walls, and I want to make this a bright, fun room. The bedspread is brand new, with a bed skirt matching the eggplant color in the spread and pillows. The artwork for this room is eclectic and bright (some examples are already hung and can be seen in the photos, and there is more to be installed).

White wood blinds to be installed this week. Haven't decided about window treatments beyond that point yet. Table lamps still to be purchased.

I'm thinking a single, bright accent wall. Question is: What color? And which wall? The wall with the window that you see upon entering the room? Or the wall behind the headboard, which would bring out the color and design of the lattice headboard?

m cowan I would paint the wall behind the bed a light blue shade that is in the bedspread.

m cowan Maybe paint the night stands the darker blue shade and then add white lamps

Photo Captures by Jeffery Behind head board, well now what is your favorite color as you will be the one looking at it more than any of us. Aqua, light blue or a dark purple perhaps?

m cowan Dark blue panels for the room. Let the art and bedspread be the stars of the room.

kellypaige I would reposition the bed to in front of the window, put up a nice window treatment as a pretty backdrop for the bed and then choose which wall to paint. Sage would be pretty. Or pull a blue from the comforter. Will look gorgeous!

jan74 I vote for the light green in the bedspread cause that seems like it will go with the other walls more than a blue would.

Erno Windt Hi. I would suggest the accent wall behind the headboard. For something dramatic and that might match your bed skirt and pillows, look at Benjamin Moore Kalamata AF-630. Or for something softer, BM Sanctuary AF-620. For a green complement, see BM Seedling AF-450.

Kristina Gulino A dark purple accent wall behind the headboard would be amazing, and help the space feel playful but still grown-up. If the room is frequented by younger guests, I would opt for a lighter hue such as green or a light yellow.

White wood blinds are perfect!

Color Zen I would go with a green (that matches the bedspread stems) accent behind the bed. Have fun :)

Jeanette Hauser I never considered painting the nightstands. There are also some scratches on the tops, so I will have to think about that one further. The darker purple (like the Kalamata suggested by Erno is another very good idea - I was hesitant to do it, but clearly, you guys agree that it's a strong contender. Moving the bed is not possible, given the placement of the door - you'd walk into the room and immediately be on the bed!
