Exterior wall design blended with rock/ slate tiles
Hi there, first time i own a house. I would like a bright colourful exterior wall infront of the yard, with a blend of rock tiles that will compliment the colour (mocha) of the house.Any ideas please. Id like my house to stand out from the rest.

rinqreation Add white shutters and stone on the bottom edge (over the brick, a bit wider).
Plants with flowers can add color to it.

Tshepiso Mthembu Thank you for the comment, didnt think much abt the idea.my husband likes it...let me enhance my plea earlier..the barrier wall infront yard that includes the gate is the one im struggling with. Most of the walls in my street are too common, what id like to see is a pattern of a layered brick wall if possible with pillars, in dark red (if layered two bright colours would be nice-like dark red and dark grey) with a separate or rather semi dettached wall in the same row embedde with rock tiles or slate tiles for cladding. The gate wll only complete the design of the wall once the wall is done. Hope im making sense.

Belman Living LLC Nice designs. Exterior walls are responsible for keeping the comfortable air in. All building codes require that you insulate the exterior walls of your home.

Stark Interiors you seem to want to make a statement with color.... Mediterranean tiles around windows would do the trick.. you have a cute house I would go with a hacienda feel

Eye of the Day Try deviating from the norm, don't think about stone or concrete at all. Put in a living wall. Make it green or if security is important use a thorny rose. Be different be green be alive!

Christine You may want to wait til its all done. Once the grass is in and you put in some colorful plantings you may feel differently about a house that screams its exterior color. You also don't want your neighbors upset that you went outside the box with a color. BUT THAT BEING SAID. I think a muted orange wall or color blocking several walls would be lovely and then put river stones around sections of the yard with grasses and use colorful pottery or metal planters to add oomph. Have fun and congrats on your new home.

Tshepiso Mthembu Hi Arlene, I need to start working on the wall, would you perhaps have an update for me?

pattiegoode What purposes does your wall need to serve? Can it be open or does it have to be solid to keep a pet or child inside? My first thought is a stucco fence that you insert colorful tiles into so that is blends with your house but you get your punches of color:
Spanish Revival
Here are more samples I thought would work with your home:

Spanish Bungalow

Arlene Warda, Architecture+Interior Design Hi Tshepiso! Wonderful house you have! thanks for waiting!.. Here are ideas I came up with:

1. 1st, I would arrange with your builder to put stone, natural stone, as you have up to the window level. (if you can, and if you can afford it) otherwise wait until later.

2. 2nd, you have a beautiful opportunity for landscape. Put in two curved planter beds to the side of walkway, entry. Put in tropical flowers ones natural to your area. Also add some color, tropical flowers. I also put in two palm tress, one to right! one to left. in flower bed, or just next to it.

3. 3rd, I put in walkway pavers in front of entry to front door. These can be stone or concrete pavers. Put in pebble stones in between and around pavers.

4. 4th, I would put two outdoor lights at entry, illuminating yard at night. Maybe also do two at palm trees, to uplight. I am sure you will work with your landscape architect, or company on this!..

Let me know how things work out! thankyou. Arlene
