Need help to sew pleated valance for kitchen window
looking for directions on how to sew a valance for my kitchen window. I thought I would like a pleated valance but I am open to other styles of valance that are current.

Barbara Griffin Art and Photography The easiest way I have found to make a pleated valance is to first cut fabric twice as wide as the window, and the length you want your valance to be plus enough for a bottom hem.. Then hem the two ends and the bottom. Then form the pleats evenly with pins, and sew the pleated fabric right side to the right side of fabric that will be used for the rod pocket. This piece could be the width of the window plus enough for a hem on both ends. Fold the second side of the rod pocket piece over the raw edges and turn the edge inside and stitch across. There are many ways to make a pleated valance but this is a quick and easy way.
