I need help deciding how to do the tile in my kitchen in our new house.
The kitchen granite will be creama bordeuax. The woodwork is oak stained a dark brown. I want the area over the cooktop to be especially pretty but it needs to not be too overwhelming with the granite. Granite is not installed yet and the staining just got finished so no real good pics yet. I plan on using pewter cabinet knobs and drawer pulls. I am attaching pics but it is before the cabinets were laquered. The ceiling is white and the walls will be a light gray.

I like these ideas, below. You may want to consider white marble tiles, they are elegant and really bring out the dark wood cabinet color. Also beige stone, or beige cream limestone would be nice too!

2. large thin tile, thin cut but light color.

3. Marble, bricksized, 'subway tile'

and maybe, maybe marble, marble tiles may be it!...
