New Move and Master Bath colors not soothing, or my style but no money to remodel.
I prefer soothing spa like colors in my bath. Just moved from wonderful master bath that I designed. I don't care for vessel sinks, color of cabinet or onyx tile. Can anyone suggest a color or inexpensive change that would make the bath more peaceful?

Carolyn Albert-Kincl Design I suggest you paint the walls a spa color such as SW Waterscape, and use white towels. If a blue/green color is not your favorite, paint it a color you like. What color was the bath you designed?

You could repaint the mirror frames if you don't care for them. The cabinet hardware wouldn't cost much to change. The cabinets could also be painted.

dalma11 Tile on shower and bath is blah beige too. I prefer blue/green yes. That was the color of my other bath with everything crisp white.

Carolyn Albert-Kincl Design You'll have to tough it out with the blah beige. But painting the walls a nice blue/green and using white towels should add some cheer. Best of luck!

beverlynn It might not be your style/taste, but it's a beautiful bathroom!! I'd get rid of those dark blue towels, replace them with white. If $ is in the budget for paint, I'd paint the walls a pale green.

DIAspoton i agree with carolyn on the wall color and towels.
the mirrors are harsh and masculine. brushed silver frames would fight with the oil rubbed bronze in the room so how about finding some cool shaped frameless venetian mirrors.
another option would be to have a glass shop cut rectanglular mirror frames 2 or 3 inches smaller than your current frames. just have them give them a wave to mimic the vessel sinks. the glass shop can take your mirrors out of their frames and adhere the new ones they cut on top of the old rectangular mirrors. so you end up with 2 mirrors framed in mirror.

Madeline I think the faucets are making this bath look dour, A nice gleaming brushed nickel would definitely lighten things up fast. Change out the towel ring too. If you're going to redo the bath eventually faucets don't have to be expensive. Most of the popular ones get copied and their insides are brass so that's all that really matters if we're not talking lifetime here. And as Caroline who always has good ideas says paint the mirror frames or replace the mirrors, paint the walls a white or your choice of blue/green and use white towels. Sometimes we have to roll with the punches...I miss my Pacific Ocean view from my master bath. Now I look out the bath to the side that not only has the pool equipment (I hear that, don't see it), it faces 18 acres of what people like to call "old Florida" trees vines and who knows what, and I what I think is just another name for the "local snakes' happy home" though for some reason since a Publix (super market) got built a half mile away there are a lot less snake sightings. I didn't want the Publix in the neighborhood but I do thank them for that. Good luck with changing your bathroom. It can be done.

dalma11 Thank you all. I agree with the fixtures. The odd thing is the old owners just replaced all of them to the bronze color. I think it is worth the money though to replace the towel rings, faucets and mirrors. I just was not sure blue/green with that yellow onyx. Thanks again

libradesigneye In the pale blue family, there are some blues that could go either family - blue-green blue OR blue-sky blue. You want to stay in the porcelain blue family and the onyx and stone will then seem soothing and neutral where the green in the blue green blues will pump up the yellow volume. Here's a good option to try out - http://www.sherwin-williams.com/homeowners/color/find-and-explore-colors/paint-colors-by-family/SW6497-blue-horizon/ You won't know until you put up some samples in your rooms. Don't rush to change out the fixtures until you paint - they will look a lot better then to help make all the browns seem linen like and deliberate - add linens in linen tones.

lilylulu Seafoam green (or a color of green with a yellow undertone ) would be fabulous with the yellow oynx and would make it less "Yellow" since I'm pretty sure that's what you object to most. Cream towels and possibly changing out the hardware to a nickel finish (even though the faucets are bronze) it is seriously ok to mix.
