Burgundy bath tile, gold fixtures and white cabinets...Help!
Our new home has a small master bath with burgundy/maroon floor tiles, gold fixtures, a gray/white marble sink and a gray shower stall (with more gold trim). I love a decorating challenge but these are not the colors or metals I would normally choose. I need ideas. We won't be renovating the master bath for a while, so how can I make the burgundy and gold a little less overwhelming?

Thank you!

rcoombe you could attempt to corrode the gold chemically and thus give it a darker patina. I think that the burgunday would seem less dated if you didn't have the white walls but warmed them up with a butter or manila tone or alternatively went much darker like a deep greyed mauve or plum which would make the vanity really pop.

eztia Could you paint the two walls that have the tile the same burgundy/maroon color, like an accent wall, or do you think it will be too dark?

You might consider using the triangles as a design element. Look for American quilt patterns, Mexican tiles, ethnic art, folk art...
