What colors should I paint my house?
So we hired a painting contractor but we cannot decide what colors to paint the house, trim, doors and driveway. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Aneisha Rush I love darker taupe color which should compliment the stone, and the white will anchor it in to the landscape.

Jennifer Nielsen I agree with Aneisha. Her colors are giving your stone a reason to be there rather than just kind of hanging. Although you might need to connect with the paving color. Can you change it?

pencraft Do you mean the driveway? It's just painted.

missyharper Your lawn is beautiful! I would suggest removing the basketball hoop before painting. Taupe with white accent would show well off your green lawn and stone accent.
Good luck.

pencraft Thanks for the tips. Should the garage be the color of the house or trim or different color all together? I have double doors with long glass ovals in the middle. The first pic is a close up when we bought the home. The next is from Halloween, which explains the orange lighting. We have redone the lawn since then. This house is in Florida.

claudiann Will you be replacing the roof sometime soon? That would make a difference. What are the spots around the windows? I would paint the garage door the color of the house. Since it appears to be a tropical area I would paint it something light. A darker color will make it look rustic or arts and crafty with the beams etc. I would seriously consider painting the stone and the wood beams the same color as the rest of the house. A safe bet would be to paint it all cream or tan.

bevballew What about a very soft green. Or gray or beige with strong green undertones and not like the green above on the house.

pencraft The roof still has a lot of life in it. We will be cleaning it. The spots are stucco repairs we had a pro do that my husband and I poorly painted (hence the hiring of a professional). Our home is in south Florida so it is tropical. I hate the stone - it's like a coral rock with some in the shape of large clam shells. We can't afford to replace now but I didn't know it could be painted. The house is unique in our neighborhood - it's the only one of its kind. I don't mind light I just hate the white. And what are your suggestions for the drive way?

Grace Jackson I think all drive ways should be white
