Help needed for Kitchen Layout
Hi all, i am trying to configure layout for new Kitchen along a wall. Part of the wall includes a wall hung flatscreen tv.

Problem is the beam running through the middle of the room.

Originally i had the pull out pantry running in line with beam, but it made kitchen area too small. (option 1)

Do you think it matters that the area is not split evenly down the middle, Option 2) as i want the kitchen area to be bigger than the tv feature. (also need it to fit everything in).

Colours are white 2 pack gloss cabinents (no handles) and snow ceaserstone bench and a dark glass mirror splashback.

Option 1 : Small Kitchen and centered.
Option 2 : Not symetrical - but larger Kitchen.
Option 3 : Run overheads and glass splashback all the way across (see photo of similar design i found.

Any suggestions or pick an option would be greatly appreciated ?

Kind Regards.

The Virtual Designer- Kitchens & Bathrooms Hi- I can clearly see your dilemma & I certainly like the kitchen pic that you found. I guess it all depends on your lifestyle and how often you are going to be looking at that TV screen.
Where will you be sitting while watching the TV? Will you have a couch or chair right in front?
I do have a few ideas and I'll get back as soon as I can with my suggestions.

Katrina Thx for your reply, there will be a two seater in the room a few meters back from kitchen and also bar stools at the kitchen island. This is the downstairs living area. The main lounge room is upstairs. Thought it would be beneficial to have two living areas.

The Virtual Designer- Kitchens & Bathrooms Hello again- I have run up a quick design for you. Not perfect as to dimensions and placement of the troublesome beam however, I've made the island longer so that the kitchen looks more like a kitchen and placed TV behind the middlle hinged doors so that the TV is hung on the wall not sitting on the counter and when not being viewed, it can be hidden behind the doors. The doors have a folding mechanism a bit like a garage door.I hope this has been helpful to you decision making.

Katrina wow - that is a fantastic idea - thank you so much for your assistance. I couldn't bring myself to close off such a big space. I loved the pic of kitchen (3), but was worried for lack of pantry space. This design covers it well.
