Does this side table look ok here?
Does this Saarinen tulip side table work next to my sofa? I don't have a chair/lounger (like a womb chair) to put it next to. Does it look weird? Not sure. Your suggestions/ opinions please. Thank you.

ASVInteriors I love it but I have to admit it looks out of context. why? Because you have a traditional comfy sofa with a jetset modern table and the juxtaposition jars... Is there somewhere else in the room you could place it? you have to lovely pieces of furniture - just not together.

pattiegoode The sofa begs for a table at about arm height. When you are sitting there, it should be easy to place a drink on the table. This table is awesome and I would use it with your sofa but in front so that the table top overlaps with the seat cushion. Does that make sense to you? The scale is off for an end table with your sofa.

carolins It's an absolute lovely design classic, but yeah... it looks a bit tiny there. Shame. Nice sofa, nice table, not the best combination. You just have to get a Tulip chair or another design classic to go next to the table... ;-)

ASVInteriors I agree with carolins (again!)

Lo La I wouldn't get a chair solely to go with the table. Isn't there anything else you can do with the table. Maybe style it with some flowers and display it almost on its own?

lindahow It just doesn't look right. You need to put a different table there if you need one. Here is one that I think would look good there. Here is a link also http://www.barcelona-designs.com/eileen-gray-side-table.html

DIAspoton a great table in the wrong spot. a corner might be a better spot, especially if it's by a low or half wall.
go with a rectangular or square table next to the sofa, a bit taller so as to make it comfortably accessible.

Room Service- Residential Design Consulting I would add a small slipper chair in a fabulous color and place it next to it and let it shine!

Jayme Hobbs Looks too small there...maybe in a different spot?

THALASSA I love the table. I think it is perfect. Add a vase with a large bunch of flowers to bring the proportion back up over the arm of the couch. Use the coffee table to put your cuppa on? Use that side table as decorative only.
Love the couch with sofa style. YOu have it spot on. I would love to see the whole room as you have a real eye for detail and style. Straight out of a mag!
With love

THALASSA PS love the circles on the cushions that bring in the curves on the round table. Very clever xxx

carolins I was of course just joking that you should get a fabulous chair to go with the table.
Unless you need a chair.
Then it's the best idea éver :-)

Lo La Agree with Thalassa!

Gabberts Design Studio We agree the height and size is out of scale with the sofa but it could work as a drink table next to an accent chair in the same room. Love your sense of style though!

Kurt Bednar Besides the obvious scale issue, I need a little more info...can you take some shots that include key permanent features i.e. such as a fireplace, window style, other furniture...all I have to go by is the floor and couch, but all three don't seem to go together. If your going modern, Le Corbusier would agree your table would be a match with his sofa/chair below, as do I. If your going modern don't hold back! but be careful they don't deviate too far from the unmovable features in the room or it may look out of place and or get expensive...

Simpson Signature Homes the scale is a little small

luvlac64 You have all confirmed my suspicions. I've moved the table against a wall for now. The plan is to one day buy a womb chair so the table can have a friend. Thank you
