Narrow and dated bathroom remodel with drop ceiling
August 26, 2013 in Design Dilemma
Thank you in advance for your suggestions! Trying to come up with a master plan for a basement bathroom remodel. It's currently quite dated and has the laundry within. We are considering expanding a closet in the wall behind where they are and having them open out into the basement living room instead but it could also be possible to just push the units deep into the wall where the closet was so you can use the bathroom for folding etc. The question then is how to redo the narrow bathroom with the shower so close to the toilet and the water heater and water shutoff for the house in the corner near the door which needs to be tastefully hidden. When looking at the window the room to the right is a crawl so i've thought about having hidden storage that may utilize some of this space where the cabinet is currently. Drop ceiling is practical but looks terrible at this point and i've liked the idea of making a drop ceiling out of cedar carsiding instead and putting in different lighting. Slate tile floor and possibly for a chair rails as well have been thought of after spending a lot of time on houzz. Welcome any thoughts you may have since i'd like to have a plan heading into winter indoor project season!
