Darkness is falling earlier at night, thanks to daylight saving time's end. Stave off the gloom with comforting, flattering candlelight

I like candlelight all year round but especially during this time of year. The shorter days and cooler nights are made so much cozier by a warm glow that comes only from candles. Plain candles will certainly do the trick, but if you'd like a pretty display too, here are some great options. — Ally from From The Right Bank
This cutout pattern will cast wonderful shadows when lit and just look pretty when not.
These votives are pretty inside and out. The organic shape and white glaze are really lovely, and the metallic copper interior will cast a really great warm light.
This set of 12 votives comes at a great price. They're all you need for a stunning tabletop.
This great organic shape in a modern matte black can be reused with tea lights when the candle is burned out.
If you like the worry- and wax-free aspects of flameless candles but not how fake they look, this set of three gold votives with different geometric shapes is one of the prettier sets of faux candles that I've found.
The foo dogs trend has been going strong for years, and these candle versions are too cute to pass up.
The delicate chinoiserie pattern on this candle set is so pretty, and I just love the color combination.
These elephant candles are so darling that I'd have a hard time burning them.
This candle had me at matte and gold.
I love this cedar candleholder that can be used with a refill (or to hold any number of odds and ends). This could be a case where I buy something solely for the packaging, except that Esteban is also one of my favorite candlemakers, and their scents are all wonderful.
This is a piece of sculpture, a candleholder and a centerpiece all rolled into one. I'd love one for my dining room.
This cool Scandinavian design would be great as a centerpiece on a modern table.
These multicolored candles are a fun and low commitment way to add some color to your space.
How can you resist these candles in the forms of miniature birch trees? They're perfect for winter holiday decorating.
For a little goth or glamour, try these black taper candles.
This is a pretty pop of color for under $3.
Adorable doesn't even come close to describing these tea lights in the forms of mini succulents. Add light and greenery to your tabletop in one go. These may be my new favorite things.
If you're looking for a wacky hostess gift, how about a bottle of wine or champagne that's really a candle?
