We doubled the budget and the deadline (2 years so far!) and I'm surprised every day by all the things that went horribly wrong. I love the house but WOW...I'll never do that again! Glad to know that what I went through is normal according to these charts. Though I fear they were meant to be a dramatization? Oh well, c'est la vie.

camomaster everytime I read these pies they remind me of the true life things that "ACTUALLY HAPPENED".
The only pie I had trouble with was the DEADLINES one: in actuality, how long it takes is always far greater than the time you have. So equal doesnt really work here. My rule of thumb - it takes at least 3 times long than one would anticipate.

maeeast A rule of thumb (or pie, this case) that I live by: get 3 quotes for time and expense. Then, add them all together. Those sums are the actual time and expense of the project.
