In another room this pair of red patent leather chairs might have shouted of drama and glamour. Here they provide just enough sheen to elevate the matte surfaces in the space.

Red patent goes in an entirely different direction here. Sleek slipper chairs and a zebra-print rug create a bold, sophisticated effect.

A sweet, stylized flower-shaped headboard goes retro chic under a veneer of white patent leather.

Black patent makes a suitably sassy partner for the mirrored walls, overscale sconces and other art deco elements of this room.
Modern Living Room
Patent leather–upholstered walls? Nailheads? Outrageous. A caveat: You'd need flawlessly smooth walls to make this work; with big lumps and bumps, the look would be sloppy.

et675 Anyone know where I can purchase the patent leather fabric from online? Does it have to be a certain fabric. Would like to do my 4 chairs in white high gloss.

marcie31 The patent leather wall looks like it has a bit of padding behind it, otherwise the nailheads wouldn't look right. That would also help make a smoother look. All these ideas are great - unless you have a cat or children. lol.
