Guest Picks: Contemporary Tableware to Greet Fall
Rich colors and autumn themes and textures for the tabletop highlight the warmth of the season
Fall is the perfect time for gatherings. The weather cools, the holidays are approaching and the smell of falling leaves is in the air. I'd love to invite some of my closest friends over for a shared meal around my table — and if I did, I'd want to set the table to the nines. Here are some perfect choices for setting a table that's fit to greet autumn. — Chelsea from Lovely Indeed
If you're getting a fall table setting together and want to make a statement right off the bat, start with a gorgeous tablecloth. I love the Marimekko pattern on this one, and the color is perfect for fall.
Placemats can also be so gorgeous when paired with the right centerpiece. Incorporate some black into your fall table with these.
Leave some water on the table in a gorgeous pitcher in fall hues.
If you don't have a set of dishes that are specifically for the fall season, try dressing up your everyday pieces with a charger. The rustic look of this Venezia charger from Williams-Sonoma would be great for autumn.
Nestle some tapers into your centerpiece with these cute little pumpkin taper holders. I love how tiny they are.
Pillar candles are also lovely on a table if tapers aren't your thing. These would be so great with the placemats from Crate & Barrel.
These tortoise napkin rings from Crate & Barrel are fantastic. I'm hereby proclaiming that tortoise is the new neutral.
Gold flatware in the fall seems so perfect to me. And it's something a little out of the ordinary for your guests to "ooh" and "aah" over.
Cake stands add some height to your table and can be used to serve more than just cake. Fill them with appetizers or a cheese course.
The rich color of these old-fashioned glasses has me swooning. Use them as water glasses or to serve up a tasty libation at the table.
I love interesting centerpieces, and these cloches would look great with some mini pumpkins inside them.
The gold inside of this bowl is right up my alley.
I personally love adding a little life to a table with plants or florals. These mini plants from Ikea are super affordable, and they have a low profile so that they won't block guests from seeing and talking to each other.
You can never go wrong with some pumpkins in the fall. These faux pumpkins would be a lovely centerpiece, and you could use them again and again.
I'm loving these taller, mercury glass gourds as well. They'd be beautiful next to some candlelight.
I think I might have to get these salt and pepper shakers for my table ASAP, whether it's fall or not.
If you have a busy tablecloth, keep napkins simple in white linen.
If you're going super fancy and making seating arrangements, these rustic place card holders would be adorable.
The Martha Stewart Park Leaves collection at Macy's is so whimsical and wonderful. I love it all, but I especially love these serving utensils.
