BAM! BOOM! POW! Designs for the Comic-Con Fan
Action, Science Fiction and Pop Culture Inspire Bold Home Decor
Hi There! I currently live in a 1920s cottage in Atlanta that I'll describe as "collected."
I got into design via Landscape Architecture, which I studied at the University of Virginia. I've been writing about design online for quite a few years over at Hatch: The Design Public Blog.

It's here – Comic-Con 2011's celebration of comic books, super heroes, anime, science fiction and all things pop culture. Some of the movie sneak peeks include clips from The Raven (will John Cusack's Edgar Allen Poe be as cool as Lloyd Dobler?), a total remake of Total Recall, Underworld: Awakenings, and The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part I.
Are you going? Or would you rather bring the fun graphics of fantasy and comic books into your home decor? Click ahead for ideas on how to include bright color, action figure collections, movie memorabilia, and/or The Force into your personal bat cave or posh living room.

REPEAT! We love the way this display treats action figures to high art. Perhaps they'll be adding more from the Total Recall remake. I'm surprised someone this meticulous would not have left these I.T.B. (In The Box)!

| THESE ARE NOT THE DROIDS YOU'RE LOOKING FOR! This year marks the 35th anniversary of the year the Star Wars team hit the then-small gathering with a card table and some posters to shill (according to Entertainment Weekly, they sold them for $1.75; now they sell for $3,000). In 1976, George Lucas was looking to make sci-fi popular again. What a long way that franchise and the convention have come since then! Private Comment

Great idea book. Love the Pez wall. That pink kitchen looks like the perfect place to make cupcakes.

Newmouse, you are so right about the cupcakes! I have to admit, while I love graphic novels, most of what I know about the actual convention I learned from a fictional show, featuring Johnny Drama signing autographs from his role on Viking Quest. That, and observing downtown Atlanta during Dragon-Con!

I'm totally LOLing over your "action" words! haha! Awesome.
This ideabook is right up my alley (apart from them letting Twilight into Comic-Con), as I am an unabashed comic book/Star Wars/fantasy geek.
I've always thought that action figure room was seriously sexy. I also love the "Rosie the Robot" room and the "sexy kitchen." The pink kitchen is so much fun, and I can ABSOLUTELY picture Tony Stark in the grey/red one! And of course, I would kill a million Stormtroopers for that Star Wars home theater. (My son would FLIP over the life-sized Boba Fett!)
Rock on, nerds. Let your geek flags fly!
