I fall in love with a new palette about once a month. Playing with color is a daily exercise. Like the mixing of flavors in cooking, combining the right colors can reveal something fresh and new.
I prefer color combinations that are unexpected. They're just more interesting. If you like to plan ahead and you're already thinking about your next project for the new year, consider a fresh palette for your home. Here are a few of my current favorites — for now!

Delft blue and chartreuse. This might be the color combination for you if you like to be reminded of the sea. It's a cool and casual combination that works best in spaces with lots of sunshine.

Red and turquoise. This is a case of opposites attracting. The warm vibe of red is cooled by turquoise, a favorite water color. Consider this palette for a guest bedroom. I think walls in red, like Benjamin Moore's Country Redwood, would be fun too.

Pumpkin orange and blue. I've said it a hundred times: Orange looks good with everything. I really love it here with blue. This combination feels sort of vintage to me. I especially like the global vibe of these floor pillows with this color palette.

Aqua and coral. This is one of my all-time favorite palettes; these two colors always feel fresh to me. They remind me of Miami in summer. Can you see a flamingo against an aqua-blue sky?

Apricot and brown. This soft shade of orange feels like a neutral, especially when paired with brown. Together they have a subtle kick. Consider this palette for a casual reading spot or master bedroom. These colors look great with lots of nubby linen fabrics.

Warm gray and pale blue. Pair gray that has warm undertones with a soft blue in a room with bright light. Try Revere Pewter HC-172 by Benjamin Moore for the perfect warm gray. This is a common palette for a Swedish-style interior.

French blue and pale yellow. If you are looking for a very traditional palette, these colors are for you. This palette looks great with warm woods and pale walls.
Soft plum and turquoise. I've shown a soft plum velvet here, but really any plum looks great with turquoise. Try to pair similar weights of color for the best result.

Black and gold. This is an elegant and grown-up palette. I love to use small doses of black in every room, as it anchors the space. Use black as a base, then build up with lighter colors. Gorgeous!
Red and pink. If you love Valentine's Day, here is your palette. Red is warm and serious; the pink softens it up a bit. Additionally, the red keeps the pink from feeling like a child's space.

| Orange and hot pink. What could be a happier color combination than orange and hot pink? This palette isn't for the faint of heart. It's bold and whimsical. Consider this great color combination for a tween girl's room or a room with bright white walls. |

Lanie! What is your master bedroom paint color?
Also the aqua and coral is is very appealing. I am currently deciding on wall paint for my greatroom. I love green and have been considering pale turquoise walls for an apricot/coral, apple green and turquoise color scheme.
It's a beautiful pale turquoise, looks beutiful with coral.
Hope that helps and thank you for your comments.

Not that I needed affirmation or anything. ;^)
And the aqua and coral is so pretty. ("fresh" describes it perfectly)
We used a similar palette in our master bedroom and just love it!
Hope that helps. Charmean Neithart
It's hard to see but the dining room pendant has red in it and the ones over the sink and breakfast table have red and teal.
The Agave canvas looks amazing on the red wall too. I might switch that with the irises in the future.
I wasn't looking for affirmation, I was joking about that. I just happen to love bold colors. Always have. To me, beige is depressing and pastels are boring.
If you must know, it was 7AM when I took the pictures and all the shades were drawn to avoid glare in the photo. I am aware of the exposures and chose the colors accordingly after testing them at different times of the day.
It's my house. I love it.
I doubt I'll tire of the palette. If I do, it's just paint - easier to change than uphostery and cheaper than drapes.
But you can bet I won't be painting anything in my house "griege". Ever.
I only posted the pics because someone asked to see them. I'd take them down if houzz would let me.
I happen to love the colors. I love how they look together, but the angle of the photo was from far back in the corner next to the TV - not an angle you would normally see.
My taste is whimisical by choice - eclectic only because I can't afford to buy all new furniture every time we move. We downsized dramatically when we moved and - like most folks - I'm working with what I have, none of which was purchased for this house.
In six months we have redone the kitchen counters, backsplash, sink, faucet and appliances and completely gutted and rebuilt the master bath. We love the changes - we are making the house ours.
Over time this will evolve into a more cohesive look, and I will ask for advice from houzzers along the way. When I want help, I will post to Design Dilemma and ask for it.
For now, I am taking a well deserved break and enjoying my house - done for me and my family and nobody else.
My townhouse has an open plan so much of the rest of the house is visible from the great room including the master suite. The kitchen and master are a soft salmon coral. I recently painted my foyer, hall and staircase a bright green, the same color I have and love as accents in the great room. Second floor comp room is blue and guest and hall are a softer shade of the green. My porch, laundry and patio are adobe coral.
The great room has minimal natural light. The vaulted ceiling is 12+ feet at the peak. The walls are currently white with the slightest tint of salmon, but I am tired of the white after 20 years. The wood is cherry, sofa pearly white leather, with 2 black leather chairs; floors are limestone throughout. It's a tropical mix of craftsman, rattan contemporary as I live in Florida.
I have considered colors from grey, mauve, and blue. The aqua/coral is definitely a great choice to coordinate with the existing colors. Definitlely paining in January. So any suggestions are appreciated. I have a few pics hope it helps with suggestions.
I LOVE the plum/turquoise pillows! Could i hire you to make some & ship them to Michigan???
