Everyone has a favorite holiday that they look forward to. Mine is Hanukkah, hands down. And when I think about Hanukkah, I think of my grandmother's legendary Hanukkah parties: evenings bubbling with family, conversation, gelt (the traditional holiday presents), doughnuts, latkes and the gleaming lights of the menorah. Now I host my own Hanukkah parties, and I try to make them fun for kids and adults alike. Here are some ideas from me and my party-throwing, design-savvy friends for a Hanukkah party full of fun and light. — Chedva from Rooms and Words

Let's talk about table settings. I love this dreidel plate, particularly because of the hints of green.
This fun and quirky menorah is actually designed by design star Karim Rashid. It's a joy for kids and design mavens alike.
Spinning tops, or dreidels in Yiddish, are a favorite of mine. This year, I've been looking up the designed version of the traditional game. This brass one would look great on a mantel.
For the kids, especially if you're celebrating "Christmukkah," how appropriate are those tree-shaped dreidels?

In my family, we try to stay away from the computer, the iPhone and other devices for 30 minutes after we light the menorah. This keyboard menorah will make the wait easier for some of us.
Here's a cool idea: A piggy bank for all those coins (real or chocolate) that the kids are sure to get as gelt.
During the Festival of Lights, don't forget those of the electrical variety. A crystal bulb will add so much to the atmosphere.

Hanukkah is also called the Festival of Lights, and I'm all for going all the way with it. Light candles in every corner of your house — it does wonders for the atmosphere of a party.

The table tray and bar cart trend is perfect for Hanukkah because they're easy to move near a window or a door to light and display your menorah.
This is the time top bust out that shameless candle collection.
This beautiful piece elevates candles into an art form with its mirrors.

A cupcake stand is perfect for the traditional fried food — mini doughnuts.
How cute are these place card holders? The blue and white theme fits perfectly with the Hanukkah spirit.
Stuff these favor boxes with prizes or candy and place one by each guests' table setting.
This is something I wouldn't come up with alone — thank goodness for brilliant friends! Try stuffing the "gelt" prizes into a dreidel piñata. Kids will love it.

How about another stand for the star of the party (pun intended)? I'm talking about the latkes, of course.
A different sort of menorah, this decal will add to your Hanukkah party decorations.

These beautifully illustrated matchbooks will enhance the ritual of lighting the menorah, and they can also be a beautiful memento.
And here's another cool matchbook — no, it's actually a teeny-tiny candle. How cool is that?

A bar cart with multiple shelves can be used to store the eight-day supply of candles and matches, as well as your party beverages.
And last but not least, here's a karaoke set for all those holiday tunes you and your guests are sure to sing. It'll make you feel (and act) like pros.
