He may look stoic, but that didn't stop Natalie Ammirato from rendering him in hot pink.

Abe Lincoln Print - $25.00 [ Link ]
This piece shows hip Lincoln, his iconic Gettysburg Address and image getting a contemporary street-art-inspired rendering by artist Phil Fung.

Lincoln Logs Classic Edition Frontier Cabin - $31.49 [ Link ]
Lincoln's childhood years in a log cabin inspired architect John Lloyd Wright to name his iconic educational toy after the former president. Is it just me, or does looking at this make you want to build one right now? I'm also taken with this packaging; I want to leave it out on a shelf somewhere in my home.

Abraham Lincoln White House China - $68.00 [ Link ]
Mary Todd Lincoln chose this French china for the Lincoln White House. Sets are available via the American Civil War Museum shop, along with Lincoln paperweights, books, prints and even a Lincoln bobblehead doll.

Abraham Lincoln: The Sangamon Edition, by Carl Sandburg [ Link ]
Everyone has this set on their shelves, but I don't know anyone who ever read the whole thing. — my dad

This familiar six-volume set of Lincoln's life by Carl Sandburg is a classic traditional library staple. I can't think of a better time to read these books. If you're hard pressed for time, go see Spielberg's flick and just pretend you read them.

Serious art collectors gave this Lincoln penny piece by Peter Tunney a place of honor in their Washington, D.C., pied-à-terre.

Abraham Lincoln Throw Pillow - $61.35 [ Link ]
It's pretty amazing to search online for "Abraham Lincoln throw pillow" — there is such a range of options, including one that says, "Lincoln is my homeboy" on it. Personally, I prefer this classic Lincoln portrait, though I don't know if I'd feel comfortable using a respected former president for lumbar support.

'Whatever You Are, Be a Good One' 8-by-10 Print, by Grassgreendesign - $14.00 [ Link ]
Let's end with an inspiring quote from "Honest Abe." If you're tiring of your "Keep Calm and Carry On" print, pull a switcheroo and swap in "Whatever you are, be a good one."

twilcox I'm guessing it would take a lotta Lincolns (the paper bill kind), to purchase the penny piece kind pictured in photo number six!

Very creative ideabook! Loved it!

apennameandthata Didn't he chop down a cherry tree? How can you be president if you chop down a cherry tree? Shouldn't you go to juvenile detention?

brysonleague I've always loved pennies, I don't know why. When I was little, I thought the man on the penny was David Bowie. They had the same hair color!

mini4679 I wonder what Abe Lincoln will have to say about this!

mjbibby Just wondering...what's the deal with the "feature" photos not relating to the actual story lately? It's confusing and wastes the users time, opening a story and finding an unrelated topic. Anyone else bothered by this? Thank you.

imissliberty Unfortunately, he only emancipated slaves in the areas he wanted conquered, but did not emancipate them in the areas his army controlled. You have to be careful because those who win wars, write the "history" books. Slavery ended all over the world mostly without bloodshed, but only this president decided that he would pit brother against brother in a bloody war to maintain his power. Lincoln did not care about the slaves. It would be hard to find a more offensive face to display, in my opinion.

Becky Harris mjbibby, I'm afraid I don't understand what you mean - can you please elaborate so we can know how to improve the Houzz experience? thanks!

mcd53 - it would be really interesting to see a study of who the most frugal first wives were. It seems the ones we know by name often tended to be big spenders (?). That's something I'd really like to learn more about.

momof5x Love all the creativity! Everything is unique but hope you don't mind me saying with a light sense of humour, that I doubt I could sleep though with Lincoln on the wall haha, he looks angry too! The bedroom is gorgeous though :)

mkp1207 I love the pink Abraham Lincoln print. Is it possible to get one but in a different color? I am doing our home office as the "Lincoln room" since we live in the city where he started his legal & political career. I want to have a colorful A. Lincoln in the center of the wall then put other pictures and prints I have framed next to it.
