The lighting choice should match the bathroom's style. In this bathroom, my clients fell in love with the vintage feel of these sconces from Restoration Hardware. They really add to the overall charm of the bathroom.

Brookside Collection Antique Nickel 1-Light Wall Lantern - CAD 97.45 [ Link ]
I would place just one of these above the mirror, as two may overwhelm a powder room, which is generally on a small scale. It would work well with a navy and white color scheme for a nautical look.

If you have tall ceilings in your powder room, then this pretty glass sphere will add interest and glamour.

Luxuria Collection 1-Light Chrome Wall Sconce - CAD 186.00 [ Link ]
I must admit that this sconce is not one I would choose for my own powder room. But if you are going for something over the top, these would add just the right amount of glam.

yayayinny Have the Quoizel Downtown wall sconces and they look great. A very versatile and workable size, noticed and admired by visitors seeing our new bath. Loved the glass ball. It is just enough to add a little formality, but also a bit of a contemporary feel.

mrsben Truly appreciate this ideabook Vanessa with sources (and prices) indicated. Thank you! On the same note, something I would also love to see you to consider is a guideline re positioning of them realizing at the same time 'there is nothing written in stone'. ☺

Vanessa Francis Thanks Amy! Love the Home Depot lantern as well!

Yayayinny - great choice! Post a pic here if you can!

Leseek - I answered the question from someone when you click on the photo. I designed it and it was built by a local cabinetmaker to our specifications. But yayayinny is right - I used the PB one as inspiration so it is very similar except for the dimensions, colour, materials etc.

Mrs. Ben - Thanks! Yes, I meant to add that to the ideabook - good point. It does depend on a lot of variables like mirror and ceiling height. As a general rule, I like to place them slightly above the middle of the mirror which usually translates to about 65". Hope that helps!
