The most functional room of any home, the kitchen is where friends and family tend to gravitate. Transform it into a warm and beautiful gathering space by adding a full fireplace. Some kitchen fireplaces are strictly for aesthetics, but others can actually become an additional cooking element. Take a look at these beautiful kitchen fireplaces — maybe one can fit into your home's primary entertaining area.

Cooking helper. This fireplace also serves as another cooking element for those large family gatherings. Work with your designer to include one for cooking pizzas, bread and more.
Design tip: If you plan to use your fireplace frequently, don't forget to plan ahead for wood storage.

Focal wall. Try adding a big fireplace to your kitchen, just as you would with your living room. This big focal wall immediately welcomes visitors into this warm space. Design tip: Adding a hearth will create additional seating in your kitchen.
Arched. Instead of installing an everyday square wooden box, choose an arched top to go against the hard horizontal and vertical lines usually found in kitchens. Design tip: Think ahead when deciding where to install your new fireplace. Make sure the heat won't make you uncomfortable, especially when you're cooking.

Gas burning. Don't want to deal with hauling in wood? Install a sleek gas fireplace that is just as beautiful as a wood-burning one. Design tip: Many gas fireplaces have ventilation guidelines. Installing one near or under your exhaust hood may allow you to kill two birds with one stone.
Traditional. This big and bold fireplace sits smack-dab in the middle of the kitchen. This is a traditional fireplace that is mostly seen in living rooms, but it looks great here.
Design tip: Not all fireplaces are friendly to children and pets. Keep your lifestyle in mind when deciding on the perfect fireplace for your family.

Elevated. Sometimes low fireplaces can get lost inside a room. Raise your fireplace up to eye level for just the right emphasis on its design. Design tip: Don't forget a mantel if you like to display family memorabilia and collected decor.

Modern. This modern kitchen has a dividing wall as a fireplace, making a bold design statement with a streamlined flame that travels from one side of the room to the other. Design tip: If you have a large wall that you are retrofitting into a fire feature, don't forget about the beauty of a double-sided fireplace, as it can really open up a small room.
Under the counter. This fireplace is hardly visible, except for the ducting up to the ceiling.
Design tip: This is a great example of how a fireplace can be used as a primary heat source.

I prefer a wood burning fireplace in the kitchen so my favourites would be the first picture kitchen design by Don Ziebell and the design by Ken Kelly Inc..
