Rough Linen And natural wool blankets and rough natural flax rustic linen bedding!

Amanda Simons LOL "from a 150-year old barn in remote Maine". I will consider myself fortunate if I can find a Pendleton blanket online for less than $150. I'm still looking!
Love these sketches!

margaretjackson Love the tree stump table drawing.

inkwitch This is a little more rustic than I can handle. Some things are just dust-catchers and ultimately tacky! How about rustic cottage with a minimalist edge?

Miriam Monttoya J love this

kjdick This mad me seriously happy. Antler you bought on Etsy! LOL! I do love rustic but some of the attempt at looking rustic are pretty funny.

Connie Brumley I found a tree stump outside a friends apartment years ago & took it in ,added glass & heard they were still using it a few years later!

astraea Fine, if this is all tongue-in-check .. but isn't this like the article on "Coastal Style", that looks tacky when overdone, and inappropriate if the house/location really isn't rustic in the first place?!

Elisa Edkins_Proctor Antlers from Etsy..check! Tree stump table...check!

luttrellwannabe What about a vacant, old bee hive? My aunt gave me one for Christmas?!?

csr1954 I guess I'm not a fan of the "rustic look" I do have a rocking chair-that I bought before my first child was born, but I'm not a fan of antlers, or other stuffed things; Mason jars used for anything but canning or storing items, or a bucket as a sink. I think this is trying too hard to be something you are not.

frogfruit I buy my little dog these antler chews (naturally shed) to chew on, they are hard as rocks. My housekeeper found them on the floor and added them to my fossil collection on the mantle! I didn't realize until a guest was holding it up saying how cool that "antler fossil" was.

Gail I adore rustic (just come see my house). For those who don't like it, that is ok you have your style and that is what makes life fun. I don't like modern. I have a tree stump coffee table, leather chairs, antiques, concrete floors, wood walls, ceilings and trim, tin walls, tin ceiling in the master, beams (rustic logs). I am so glad we all have different taste, makes things more interesting.

sclawson Make sure your antlers have been gathered from those naturally shed. Or, I really love the cardboard versions out there that mimic animal heads. Haven't bought any yet, but so fun to look at!

Aegean-Designing Whims We've just bought a 1930's cabin and are almost finished with decorating it. Waiting for an older canoe to come in so we can hang it from the ceiling. I'm dying to finish and photograph it so I can send it to houzz!!!!! Here are some "before" photos Chrysteen

Wally Stryk We've had success in using "rustic" pieces in ultra contemporary settings. It's all about the context and what a client likes. We have some in context photos listed at www.asianartimports.com/inspiredsettings. These items have been used by leading US designers.

inkwitch There are aspects of rustic that I like: repurposed wood used anywhere, rocking chairs, I even know someone who made a bathroom sink out of a tin bucket! I photograph derelict shacks and print them in sepia (or B/W). I'm building a barn door for my kitchen due to lack of space for any other type. I like a little rustic, but I sure hope this was tongue-in-cheek!

Texas Lightsmith A copper oil lamp never hurts the rustic scene either! ;)

happyjackjane We'll be building a "cabin" soon, and I already told my husband, "No dead animals are allowed in the cabin". I like most of the other ideas. I did find a needlepoint kit with all manner of animals portrayed on it (a sampler). It may be done by the time the "cabin" is done! ;-P

Wally Stryk How about this this reindeer made with recycled wood? Even the tree wasn't killed.

marriet1 I like barn doors and cast iron pots. Pendleton quilts are great as are Hudson Bay blankets. I think a lot of these items are ok, though not all in one room. My husband had a number of these when I met him. (no antlers) Guess it spoke of an outdoor life and simplicity, which I liked.

137grove In my family room we have a carved wood moose head. During Christmas time we hang colorful glass balls on ribbon! Very fun. I agree with some of the comments about this idea book being over kill but the drawings are beautiful. I am perfectly content with my leather sofas, fire place, Hudson bay blanket and my carved moose head who we name Bucky

Wally Stryk We've placed a number or these in Colorado and Utah which you'd expect. They've also been used in Manhattan and LA. www.asianartimports.com

carolerains Glad to see Houzz articles on rustic style. I love the rustic look so much I am launching an online store for it this spring,http://www.rusticartistry.com/

Gail Let me know when you open your site. I love Rustic Chic, too.

RusticSinks.com I think "new" rustic pieces are fitting in with more modern homes. You will now see copper used more in kitchens and baths that give a rustic, warm, and livable look. See how a "new" copper bucket sink on granite will still give that rustic look for not a old, ugly piece.

La Lune Collection We were just revisiting this ideabook, Nina (since we loved it so much the first time) and thought we'd add a few ideas of our own, one for each "page" of the book.
1. We agree a rocking chair is an absolute must for the rustic front porch! We picked our Rocker #1072 as a good option:
http://www.lalunecollection.com/collection/seating/rocker-1072/

2. A tree stump table is just so great - how about a tree branch table base? Here's our #3095 Table Base to consider:
http://www.lalunecollection.com/collection/tables/table-base-only-3095-3101/

3. We have to admit we have a soft spot for Pendleton - which made us think of our last photo, our Armoire #2023 filled with colorful rustic blankets!
