The start of the new year always puts me in the mood to refresh the home. It's time to purge and prune and edit. Darker winter days make us crave lighter colors too, and there can be none better than white.
Here's a tip if you're looking to lighten up your home: Paint walls in the basic off-the-shelf white at your paint store, and you will never have to color match it again for touch-ups and refreshing. In the meantime, add some white furnishings to brighten things up. — Valorie from The Visual Vamp

Recently on Million Dollar Decorators, Martyn Lawrence Bullard had a bed custom made in faux ivory. This bed from Oly is an investment, but it's a million-dollar look for a lot less.

I love this hoof-footed stool. You could change out the upholstery, maybe to something with hair on hide.

The Ikea Ektrop chair is still the best deal ever. It comes with a white slipcover that would cost more than the chair alone if you had it custom made. Use four of them in a room instead of a sofa.

olldbobbi I love white interiors! They're so clean and pure and easy to decorate around. I just bought a white comforter, too, and I'm redecorating my guest room in white, black and red ochre. So far, so good....
