Every year I decide I don't need to make any New Year's resolutions, because I should be — theoretically — changing my bad habits throughout the year. But every year, right around New Year's Eve, I realize there are several bad habits that have been lingering way past their due date, and the resolutions begin. This year I think my focus will be reducing my legendary procrastination tactics.
New Year's resolutions often revolve around some common themes: organization, health, career, new paths and new habits. No matter what your fresh start this year, here are some handy ideas and aids that will help you on your way. Or, if by some miracle you have no need for resolutions, you can bring home a fresh green plant, like the moss in the terrarium below, to remind you of the freshness of this brand-new year.

Drinking more water is a great New Year's resolution. I just got one of these for Christmas and already love it. Add fresh fruit combinations to the base (watermelon and basil, strawberries and lemons), and with a few twists and a shake, you'll have fresh flavored water to keep you hydrated.

| These classic bags are made right in my home state, but believe me, that's not why I've included them. The gorgeous leather is thick and sturdy, the pockets are roomy and they're great for both men and women. |

| Fresh green plants remind us all of new growth and fresh starts. A terrarium like this one, made from recycled wine bottles, works for even the blackest of thumbs — the moss just needs a little misting now and then. |

aeykelbo Is this like when people buy new gym clothes thinking it'll make them go to the gym ? Also, a previous New Years ideabook made a compelling argument to de-clutter... so I think I'm going to buy less stuff rather than more ;) But the professionally designed resume is a good idea...

Fine Art & Portraits by Laurel Super thin pens and mechanical pencils look cool, but actually the thick ones are much more comfortable (this from the child who crushed crayons in her intense grip).

Pim Van Hemmen I have to say, I love Houzz, but this is not a post worthy of the website. I have looked at a lot of posts and all of them have something of value, but this one reads like a shameless promotion to sell things we really do not need.
