scarbowcow Charming selections; quite inspiring and not just to delight children, which I personally think is important. I think that 'child-friendly' homes should not feel like nursery school playrooms. Quite the opposite in my view. While it's important to let children be children, and to appeal to their age, etc., at the same time, we're also supposed to be raising them to be adults, and so there's nothing wrong and everything right in surrounding them with art that delights adults, too. It trains them in good taste instead of pandering to their 'herd instinct' of 'needing' to have all the latest neon plastic gimcracks that all their friends have.

Justine Hand has got it exactly right: the art - and indeed, furniture - children are surrounded with should be able to follow them out of the nursery, into their college dorms and first apartments and back to their own children's nurseries without ever seeming out of place. That's what makes it all tasteful and timeless.

yogapaws I would hang some of these in my "grandma" condo. My grandsons love animals. The oldest has been obsessed with elephants since he was 15 months old ... so I am always on the look out for elephant themed art & greeting cards.

carlajene Some of these are wonderful. There are a few, however, that would have frightened me as a child (and I wasn't a particularly fearful child). Some even seem a little creepy to me now. In choosing, I think I'd take my cue from how a child reacts to any given piece of art.
