Red is a bold choice that can evoke feelings of passion, heat and energy — just the things that help us get through these last couple months of winter, no? It's not necessary to use red as a main color in your space to get the benefits; add a touch here and there to rev up your room and your mood. — Danyelle from Dandee Designs

A rolling pin is generally a very utilitarian item in the kitchen. The nice pop of red on this one takes it from something that gets stuffed in a drawer to something that I'd want to keep on the countertop.

That's a great line! And exactly how I felt this morning, waking up to acres of dirty grey whiteness again (not even February yet!). I was going to make a trip to Ikea for some bright colours, but it's more comfortable to stay cosy at home in front of the fire with the clutter and dust-bunnies and peruse Houzz instead. Cheaper, too.
