Round, soft, pink and fluffy. This is not a dude's room. But it's the feeling of warmth and intimacy that really makes it girly.

This is a room made for chatting and intimacy. It's welcoming and warm and plush, like your favorite, well-read aunt. This room would make you a cup of tea if it could.

Feminine rooms can be sleek and straightforward too. The touches of shine, rounded shapes and nods to coziness in the rug and cushion are what make this relatively spare room a ladylike one.

Modern and playful and definitely flirtatious. Check out those curves! And this space belongs to a man, so there you have it.

I love the high glamour of this gold chandelier with the soft dove-gray walls in this intimate and personal little corner.

Traditional, but in a femme way. The soft pinky beiges and the ornate chandelier give it a grande dame vibe. If Maggie Smith were a room, this might be it.

This room never met a flounce it didn't love. This is so totally Miss Havisham and Goth romantic.

It's pink, sure, but the curving lines of the headboard and table lamps are what bring out the woman in this room.

Pink, patterns and shapely fixtures. This is the Carrie Bradshaw of powder rooms. Hubba hubba.

the_misfit OK, I particularly love the wallpaper in that last bathroom, but I cannot help asking: why is the (lovely, by the way) Venetian glass mirror centered over the sink AND THE TOILET? Is it equally likely that someone will be shaving, applying makeup, etc., while standing in front of EITHER of those fixtures?

Fleurishes maybe why the mirror is centered that way is because the room is very small...it looks quite lovely, by the way

Vanessa Mahuika I am guessing the light fixtures were most likely already there, and so the mirrior needed to be hung based on the positioning of the lights?

Jean Corey Love the dusty pink brocade wing chair in the "Maggie Smith" room.

Gail Harrison I loved the wallpaper too, but my obsessive compulsive self would have to rehang the wallpaper and the mirror so the mirror was centered on a main portion of the design!

rm32799 That off center mirror would drive me mad!! Lol!

cillisa So I'm not the only one who was reminded of Miss Havisham by the all-white room. Especially the PBS version with the candles...

misskerryanne Ohh this is so beautiful...why am i moving in with a man!?!

bruinette Cillisa you're certainly not the only one reminded of Miss Havisham by that room - first thing that popped into my head when I saw it! I think it's the high stacks of books that does it :)

Living Vintage Thanks for the great ideas!

fishingheart I didn't even notice the placement of the mirror until I read comment. I think they put it in the center of the wall space. It appears there isn't too much wall on the right where the door is opened and it probably ends where the toilet is positioned. Still beautiful!!! I have a problem with deciding where to place my ceiling chandeliers in my bedrooms. Center of the ceiling or centered over the bed? Any comments would be very helpful. Just purchased a house in Martha's Vineyard and have 5 bedrooms to decorate.

wantsideas Some of these were not my style but they all made me smile. Must be the pink in every room.

anne dee I see these rooms and think of cotton candy!!

Fleurishes I have 4 bedrooms with chandeliers. They are all centered in the rooms. There might be a situation where they might be great otherwise, but mine look beautiful in the center...

amandamoore I love the look of the frilly rooms but can't help but think of spiders when I see ones so ornate and froufrou - too little miss muffet I guess? It's always what comes to mind when I see shabby chic or ultra femme rooms.

baui It's a powder room so mirror placement isn't as critical. And yes, it's b/c the room is small. Not my taste but I think it's brilliant and lovely :)

home improvement specialties I'm with misfits on this one. moving the sconces would have not taken much effort or work before the paper was installed, and the mirror would then look perfect, centered on the sink, as it should be. I'm way too OCD to have this in my own bath! lol
