Sigrid Yeah, but are they comfortable? The average sofa bed is pretty grim.

tcufrog What about a good old fashioned day bed or window seat with a drawer underneath. Those traditional options are much more comfortable than most of these choices look.

katross69 I would like to see more murphy bed options, anyone know where I can find a queen size one?

jagarrou @katross69
I clicked through a lot of the links in the story to see more options from the designers, and the murphy bunk beds are sold on a website called www.flyingbeds.com
I bet you could find your queen murphy there. Check out the Twirly Bed - it revolves around 180 degrees to become a bookshelf. It's from Italy.

cheerio The guy in the fourth picture is proof that they are uncomfortable :)

empresslockness That bean bag bed seems like it would get lumpy after awhile.

ddwjr I have made a murphy bed based on plans and hardware at rockler.com. They have twin, full, and queen size. Of course this requires some woodworking skills. It works great. My 77 year old mom can operate it.

berksd I bought a murphy bed through Craigs List. Had some cabinets build around it. Saved a lot of money buying it used.

Peter Medvin Zoom-Room, the electronic, remote controlled Murphy Bed (www.Zoom-Room.com), is all over thoughtful, useful convertible furniture. We like to add a high-tech component as well! Check out our sofa bed model and the bookshelf that turns into a bed below, and at http://www.zoom-room.com/gallery-office-naples/

stargazer51 We have an inflatable queen size bed purchased at Costco for $150. It is 18" high and even includes an inflatable headboard to keep your pillows from sliding off. I'm pretty picky about beds and a light sleeper but this thing works even with my 6'2" husband. It's not feather light but, with the storage bag and shoulder strap, I can schlep it around and I'm 5'2". I plan to use it in my studio/guest room until a the budget allows for a murphy bed.

nardiacooper We have desk/bed options available in New Zealand at www.hiddenbed.co.nz which are pretty cool as you do not need to remove the contents of the desk to access the bed.

Ahh! Products Bean Bag Chairs Checked out the bean bags, nice idea for quick guest bedding. The choices in fabrics could be amped up a bit, like bean bag chairs from Ahhprods.com. Perhaps Ahh! Products bean bag covers that are sold separately could be used to update the styles.

Bean2Bed.com The Bean2Bed is actually one of the comfiest things you'll ever sit on. We don't use polystyrene 'beans' like traditional bean bags. Instead we use a revolutionary type of foam that reacts to heat and moulds to your body, providing even weight distribution and a seat that feels like it was made around you. And you'll never need to replace the filling, unlike beans - it'll never get crushed. Find our more at www.Bean2Bed.com, or Search for "Bean2Bed" on Facebook and Twitter.
