I love September in Maryland - sunny days that get warm, but not too warm and nights that get chilly, but not too chilly. Perfect keep-the-windows open weather.
As it turns out, keep-the-windows open weather is also perfect quilt weather. There's a lot to love about quilts year-round, though. Such a great weight...and so pretty:

I love the idea of draping a quilt over an ottoman, just to mix up the decor.

This quilt is so pretty and feminine, with it's loose gathers.

This has long been one of my favorite photos on Houzz - I can't get enough of the orange and turquoise color combination.

I like the way the wild colors and pattern of this blanket work with the floral pillows - perfect on simple white linens.

This pretty quilt feels both modern and feminine.

This bed is a great example of how two patterns can work so nicely together - different colors, different sizes and different textures somehow come together into one cohesive (and great) look.

Quilts are just made for sleeping porches, aren't they?

And don't mismatched quilts look great together? I love this look for any type of guest room or kids' room.

There's a lot to be said for the solid quilt, too. The stitching keeps it interesting, but the single color makes it sleek.

| I'm not usually a big fan of overly traditional spaces, but there's something about this room that makes me smile. It's got "Boy's Life" written all over it. Private Comment

I love quilts! I even have two shelves in my living room bookcases that we keep folded quilts on year round. When it's cold, pull off a quilt to snuggle up with. When it's warm, take a quilt outside for a picnic tablecloth, a ground cover, a tent.....They're great to have around all the time.

thanks for including my guest room in this ideabook! My husband and I spent alot of time redoing the floor and adding the wall trim. This is the summer look...I change the bedding in the winter. Thanks again!

Any suggestions on where to purchase great quilts? I especially love the ones that Sarah Richardson uses for her rooms.

Love quilts! One of the first things I did when I learned to sew (this past winter!) was to make a patchwork quilt. I had a collection of quilts which I sold when I moved abroad, but have managed to collect some since I've moved back!
