gte027i we are using pendants over our island that are almost the exact same but only 8" wide. The island is 96x36. Do you suggest 2 or 3 pendants and what is the usual height from the counter where they are placed?

Venegas and Company Natural stones are usually 1-3/16"-1-1/4". Man-made surfaces can vary 1cm, 2cm or 3cm. And then you could always miter and increase the thickness! It's all about the client and the design so it can be whatever you'd like!

Venegas and Company You have to consider the overhang which will be around an 1", thickness of the box which should be 3/4" and then the sink has to attach to the underside of the counter. You will want at least a minimum of 4", but depending on the type of sink you may need more clearance. Good luck with your project.

Venegas and Company Yes, we use it quite a bit. All of our cabinets are finished in the factory, and depending on the sheen, the finish process is slightly different. The end result is always a strong durable product. All finishes are susceptible to some scratches over time, but nothing out of the ordinary.

Venegas and Company Thank you for your inquiry! In this particular project, the 10-1/2" diameter fixtures were selected and the island is 9'-9" overall. We agree with Castle Construction - 3 Pelham fixutres or 2 larger fixtures would work well with your island! Good luck with your project!

Venegas and Company K & B Renovations has a great idea, by lowering the ceiling just above the cabinets and creating a soffit. This will decrease the overall height of your cabinets, but keep the high ceiling in certain areas.

Venegas and Company There are no rules! We integrate several finishes into one space all the time. It's all about creating a space for your needs and choosing colors and finishes that fit your style. You can certainly accent the sink base! What if you did the accent on both the island and the sink base? I don't know your layout, but do what you know you'll love!

I think this could work for our home. We want to lighten the kitchen (white cabinets help a lot), but it might be interesting to retain a darker center section/L section so as to lend contrast to the space. Stainless steel appliances work well with this.
