Anne DeCocco I believe what you're looking for are pencil liners. Sometimes a bullnose tile (8-12" long) is used, sometimes a metal schluter, depending on the look you're going for. All provide a nice, finished edge and come in an array of colors/finishes/shapes.

We love this tile as a border in bathrooms or kitchens in various color mixes and find that if you want to use multiple stones in a room this is a great way to tie them all together.
