Using an étagère can also be an excellent way to plant an indoor herb garden. Make sure to place it in a sunny spot where the herbs will receive light at least eight hours a day.Keep in mind that indoor herbs can be subject to pest problems because they aren't subjected to the winter frosts that kill pest eggs. To free your indoor garden from insects, simply take a bottle of soapy water and spray all sides of the leaves until the bugs are gone. Soap kills the eggs but doesn't harm the plants.
