Improved Meyer Lemon

What Houzz contributors are saying:
The hybrid Improved Meyer lemon is a favorite among citrus growers. Not only does it have that wonderful sweet taste, but it's fairly hardy for a lemon tree, has almost thornless branches, frequently blooms with incredibly fragrant blossoms, and has a plentiful harvest. It's a smaller tree, usually not growing higher than 10 feet, making it a favorite choice for garden borders or even a large pot. Photo courtesy of Monrovia
Citrus blossoms can be as edible as the fruit. Taste first, as the flavor varies and may be overly strong. Use them to garnish lemonade, ice cream or whipped cream; add them to salads or mix them with butter to flavor fish or fowl. You can also candy the blossoms for a sweet treat, although the edges may turn brown in the process.

Fertilizing. A light feeding followed by thorough watering is still OK for actively growing warm-season lawns. Ditto for nuts, citrus and stone fruit. Avoid applying too much fertilizer, though — it’s too hot in August to force a lot of tender new growth.
