I like it. However not my style. I don't like the pattern on the wall. I would rather see a rich color that compliments all that is going on. Love the lamp. The couch, the pillows, the drapes and ..even the artwork all work together ( the candlesticks can go) but I find the wall just sends it over the edge. Like a Las Vegas hotel room. Now that is just my opinion. Does not make it right.

Thank you. I appreciate your input. The curtain panel behind the wall is actually subtle due to it being white on white. Being behind an already white sofa, it added a layer of texture to the center of the space (which was btw created using items already on hand.) The Vegas remark 'really' wasn't necessary.
Thanks again, Lynda

I disagree with featherednest. I think that the wall texture adds a lot of personalty and creates a rich look. Love the colors and the overall look.

First let my apologize for the Vegas comment. I am new to this site and I did not realize that this was your design. I would have never have said that if I had realized. As for my opinion as I said it is just that. Just an opinion. Art, and design is art, is very subjective. In the Museum of Modern Art in NYC is a canvas that is all black. Many stand there and look at it and ponder life's greatest mysteries and others look at it and think it is foolishness. So, again I am sorry.

Not a problem Sue... I totally understand... everyone IS entiled to their opinion. There have been vingettes I've tried that don't work. There have been some I have photographed and look back on now saying, 'what was I thinking?'. This space has changed, or rather evolved over the past three years. This space in particular was anexperiment to me to try something different... and no matter waht anyone says about it, I am enJOYing the smile it puts on my face every morning when I come downstairs.
Originally, I had thte prints at the ends of the soft-wall, and the solids in the center. It 'felt' choppy and disconnected. This to me now'feels' right in the space, for the moment. I'm sure as the year goes on, I'll deepen the turqs tones to teal, eliminate white, or change it out all together.
I DO appreciate your comments, and especially this one (would LOVE to see the all black canvas at MoMA! Maybe I will on my next trip up.)
Thx Sue and thx oldcharm

Love this shot. Shows the space off so well and I can see how you use the panels better. I really adore your huge windows and your soft treatment of them. I can see why you like to come downstairs every day to this space.
