Flower garden stories

location . Ljubljana vicinity
size . 2000 m2
planning . 2008
completed . 2009

In the old village core stood an ancient farm, with a house, stone stable and traditional wooden barn. Later a smithy was opened there, even later, before the second world war, a village store with an inn was arranged. Today, on the ruins of decrepit buildings a new house with a garden that combines traditional and modern motifs was created. Images of old orchard, flowering meadows, sand petanque, majestic walnut trees and rosarium were recreated and preserved. Old apple trees were emphasized with circular sand carpets. Around the oldest one seven corner stones of the old house were set. The owners have lovingly called this place 'Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs' when in spring the apple blossoms unveiled a Snow White's dress. *

What Houzz contributors are saying:
The flowers of all types of roses can be used in a number of ways. You can candy the petals; include them in salads or tea sandwiches; add them to jelly, jam, butter and honey; brew tea or use them to flavor sugar (remove the petals before using the sugar). Be sure to taste first, as the flavors vary greatly from rose to rose — a general rule of thumb is that the deeper the color, the stronger the taste. It's also a good idea to remove the white base of the flower, as it is generally bitter.

Dried flowers though are supposedly dead flowers, but they retain the beautiful colors even once they are dry.
