Nicole Finnen I find that on most projects, there are multiple photos and the question has usually been answered on a different photograph. I can tell you that the windows are definitely by Pella and definitely a custom design (which we copied!).

Molly I have a polyurethane wood top island and it shows chips and scratches (only 3yrs. old) really interested in oil finish. wouldn't it be very suseptable to staining (mustard, wine , coffee...)

Witt Construction Not any more challenging than Soapstone or Granite. If you keep it clean and use a food safe mineral oil on occasion the will stay nice.

Witt Construction It is actually Glass Slipper - 1642 by Benjamin Moore.

Witt Construction The main part of this home is approximately 2,500 square feet. There is an in-law suite/guest suite with a kitchenette that is approximately 400 square feet and located above the garage but the staircase is in the mud hall so it is technically attached to the main part of the home.

Blue Desert Interiors Any wall can be opened up. The opening up is very different though for the type of wall it is. A load bearing wall will require new support beams at each end and horizontally across the span to carry the weight properly. Depending on the compexity, a structural engineer/architect will need to draw the size/location of the new beams. A non-load bearing wall will not need that level of new supports, just new framing to hold the drywall. Lots of things can trip up the process though, such as electrical, HVAC and plumbing hidden in the wall you want to remove. These would have to be moved in both cases. Professional interior designers and architects can help guide you through the process. If you look into interior designers, look for one like us, that specializes in construction services.

Witt Construction The edge along the counter is carried throughout the length of the counter and one the marble on the window sill. The cut edge around the sink is a plain cut.

Witt Construction What we have used in this kitchen is a tumbled, white subway tile. I would suggest shopping at your local tile vendors for ideas and prices.

Witt Construction It is covered with a cabinet panel, just past the lemons to the right of the sink. Do you see the tall cabinet? That is it.

Creative Lighting As a lighting consultant, I can agree that halogen has a "bad wrap". That said, I wouldn't suggest Halogen under-counter, especially with so many great options in xenon and LED. When comparing and selecting, really pay attention to light (lumen) output and color. Kichler makes a great xenon option, and a great LED version (though pricey.)
