Terrariums

62 Results
Originally conceived in the Victorian era, terrariums are gaining popularity once again. These fascinating miniature ecosystems can add a touch of green to your office, and if properly built and taken care of can last years. Your terrarium can be an open or closed style, with closed terrariums being best for tropical plants like ferns, mosses, air plants and orchids and an open terrarium being optimal for dry climate plants such as succulents and cacti.

A closed terrarium can be interesting to watch as it basically creates its own weather. Water circulates throughout the glass container and moistens the terrarium plants inside. However, you’ll want to open your closed terrariums about once a week in order to remove excess moisture and prevent mold from growing. It’s also important to check and make sure your terrarium plants are receiving enough water.
